The annual diocesan celebration in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be celebrated on Dec. 7 in downtown Austin. Catholics across Central Texas are invited to gather to celebrate and reflect on the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Juan Diego at Tepeyac, Mexico, in December 1531.

Father Kevin Rai leads Marian Mornings on first Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Elizabeth Parish in Pflugerville. The morning includes Mass, a teaching, prayer time, silence and time for the sacrament of reconciliation.

St. John Neumann Parish in Austin hosts a Mass for Vocations followed by a Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Saturday of each month.

The Altar & Rosary Society of St. Joseph Parish in Killeen will host the annual Christmas Bazaar on Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in parish hall. Various committees and vendors will sell crafts, including Christmas décor, baked goods and gifts. The Christmas Café will sell homemade soups. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos. Families are welcomed to attend.

St. Mary Church of the Assumption in Waco hosts a Mass and Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. All are welcome!

A Filipino Mass is celebrated on the first Saturday of the month at 4 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Austin. Fellowship follows right after the Mass at the Parish Activity Center. It’s a potluck dinner, so please bring a dish to share. Come and join us and meet your kababayan!

St. John Neumann Parish in Austin will host the Austin Brass Collective Concert on Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. in the church. This talented group of local professional brass musicians, featuring trumpets, trombones, French horns, and tubas, will perform Christmas classics and selections from beloved holiday movies. The concert is family-friendly and open to all, with no readings or prayer services. After the concert, enjoy a reception in Morris Hall with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate. Free admission with free-will offerings is available via QR code.

St. Mary Advent Mission & Reconciliation Retreat St. Mary Parish in Temple will host an Advent Mission and Reconciliation Retreat, themed “Preparing the Manger of Our Hearts,” December 14 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. This all-day gathering begins with the Liturgy of the Hours and Mass in the church, followed by breakfast, an inspiring talk, a panel discussion, and lunch at the school gym. Then afternoon session in the church commences at 1 p.m. with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Penance Service, Sacrament of Reconciliation, and Adoration concluding with Vespers, Benediction, and Mass. Free meals and babysitting (9 a.m. - noon) will be provided (ages 1 & up). Come, let us together prepare the manger of our hearts for Christ. Join us for an Advent Day of Reflection with the Deaf Apostolate. This day welcomes all deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing individuals to a day of spirituality and fellowship during the Advent season. The Reverend Tom Coughlin, O.P. Miss., will lead us in this day for spiritual encounter. American Sign Language and Voice Interpreters will be present.

Holy Qurbono (Holy Mass) in the Syro-Malankara Catholic Rite is celebrated every third Sunday of the month at the chapel of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish in Pflugerville at 3:30 p.m. The celebrant of the Holy Mass is Father Saji Lukose, associate pastor of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish.
