Legal Services

The Legal Services Department is overseen by the Chancellor, Deacon Ron Walker, JD. The department:

• ​​​​Provides legal services, counsel, and representation to the bishop, vicar general, and the diocesan curia, as well as to the parishes and schools under the parish services agreements between the parishes and diocese.
• Coordinates the efforts of outside counsel that are used in matters involving litigation and special issues.
• Reviews policies for compliance with various laws.
• Participates in continuing education programs for parishes and schools in matters related to legal issues.
